PALM BEACH Island Maldives

Class

Imagine an undisturbed lush green tropical forest. Exotic tropical blooms and ripe luscious fruits. The music of birds calling out to each other. The gentle sound of wind rustling the leaves. The rushing of waves to shore in the background – the perfect tropical symphony. What would you call a place such as this? Eden? We call it Palm Beach Island.

Palm Beach Island is one of the most naturally beautiful islands in the Maldives – where 1192 islands renowned world wide for their beauty lie sanguine and sublime across the Indian Ocean. Those who have been to the island swear by its beauty. Situated right on the edge of one of the 20 atolls in the Maldives, the Palm Beach Island has a land area of 21.75Ha. Fine white coral sand runs right around the island, creating 3.40km of beautiful beach. The surrounding lagoon is an azure blue, perfect for snorkeling, swimming or for a lazy sailing trip in the afternoon.

In developing Palm Beach Island as your ideal holiday destination, our top priority has been to leave this awesome natural beauty as undisturbed and untouched as possible. Local tourism regulations allow development of 20 percent of the island. But we have stuck to just 6.48 percent, leaving most
of the island as it is – for your optimal enjoyment of its natural blessings.

Walk beneath the tall palm trees, their tops heavy with coconuts, the large screw pines with their red and orange fruits, meander through the tropical trees, rest beneath the shade of the umbrella-like age old banyan trees. Enjoy the profusion of color, take in the scent of the greenery – it’s the definite sounds and smells of an undisturbed tropical rain forest. This is Palm Beach.

Situated in a strategic position in the central edge of the atoll, the Diving School in Palm Beach offers you the excellent opportunity to discover the best of the famed Maldivian dive sites. The local and international diving instructors at the Dive Center are multilingual and have logged several dives in the Maldivian waters - giving the skill and experience to guide you to the best that the Maldivian underwater has on offer.

The service is personalized and the dive boats are clean and comfortable. Diving excursions are made on these boats to the excellent dive sites found within the atoll. The boats will take you to where the Manta Rays and the friendly shark dwell, and where the coral reef gardens are the most colorful.

If you would prefer sticking close to the island, the house reef itself offers you the perfect solution with its beautiful coral gardens and rich marine life.

VILLAS: With individual names, these elegant and spacious two-storey villas stand on their own – a home in its own right. Upstairs is the bedroom, the ultimate room with a view. The large king-sized bed has been strategically placed to give you a direct view of the ocean – the first thing in the morning, and the last thing at night.

After a good night’s sleep, the balcony outside is the perfect place to enjoy a steaming cup of coffee or tea. The unlimited view of the sea as you sit sipping orange juice or coffee, and eating croissants, works up a good appetite and prepares you well for the day ahead.

The sitting room is downstairs. The facilities available and the comfortable rattan furniture makes it possible for you to entertain or simply to relax.

With TV, mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities, everything you need is close at hand.

The open-air bathroom could easily be one of your most enjoyable rooms in the Villa. The landscaped garden with its tropical fruit-bearing trees, allows you to pick your own fruit for breakfast. There are tropical fruit trees in all rooms. Be Eve, be Adam, be free – pick your own fruit.

The shower is right there in the garden -- feel the sun on your back as you shower in the open air. For your comfort, the bath and the rest of the facilities are shaded. But still nature is never far away.

Every villa has its own Jacuzzi in this lovely garden-bathroom, adding to the luxury and comfort of the time you spend in there.

For afternoon coffee, step out onto the verandah or porch. The Maldivian-
style swing and the comfortable chairs is the best way to unwind after a day on the beach. Sit on the swing and take in nature’s creativity. Watch boats sail across the ocean, passing the islands on the horizon.

See the maakanaa or cranes come and land on the beach and then take off gracefully. This is bliss.

You maybe a world away from the hectic life back home. But still if you need to keep in touch, telephones are close at hand – in the bedroom, sitting room and bathroom.

DELUXE BUNGALOWS: Standing just a few steps away from the beach, these rooms are surrounded by thick vegetation and every room has a view of the sea. The bedroom is a few steps above the sitting area, allowing you to view the beach and the ocean as you lie in bed.

The sitting area contains all modern amenities – television, minibar and tee/coffee making facilities. You are free to entertain or enjoy time on your own.

The bathroom, with its open air showers and landscaped garden is luxurious and completely in one with nature. You may even find sumptuous tropical fruits growing in the garden. In that case, give in to the whim - go ahead and pick your own fruit.

Your shower is right there, in the midst of this tropical garden. Let the water sooth you even as the sun warms your body.

The verandah outside your room, with its traditional Maldivian swing lets you sway back and forth gently, taking in the view of the ocean and the beach. The soft breeze from the palm trees just outside brushes across your face as you sit and enjoy an afternoon coffee. The perfect ending to a long day in the sun. The perfect beginning to another exciting evening.
