Vermillion International Pvt Ltd, (100% Maldivian company) has been awarded the "Indian Ocean's Leading Travel Agency 2008" at the regional World Travel Awards (WTA) Ceremony at the 5-star Swissôtel Grand Shanghai, China on the 19th of June 2008, where the winners of the Asia & Indian Ocean Awards were announced.
 

Vermillion International was also nominated as the leading Travel Agent from the Indian Ocean Category in 2007 as well and was among the 3 short listed companies. Though we were amongst the top 3 companies,
it wasn’t our turn 2007, but we’ve made it this time 2008. 

Founded years back with the main objective of providing travel and tourism services to the booming tourism industry in the Maldives. Over the last years, we have grown to become one of the market leaders in the industry with annual turnover of over USD $ million.

It’s a very big achievement that a Maldivian travel agency / tour operator has attained such a status at the World stage.

Things are changing, our dreams are coming true and the nation is proud.
Getting an international award of such (Indian Oceans Leading Travel Agent) is a national triumph and achievement, especially at such a time when the nation’s widest celebrations are going on after winning the SAFF 2008 Football Championship for the first time.

Maldives won these prestigious awards after a voting campaign which reached more than 167,000 travel agencies, tour and transport companies and tourism organizations in over 160 countries across the globe.

The World Travel Awards is hailed as the “The Oscar of the Travel Industry” by the Wall Street Journal. The World Travel Awards were launched in 1993 to acknowledge and recognize excellence in the world's travel and tourism industry. Now celebrating its 15th Anniversary, the awards are regarded as the very highest achievement that a travel product could ever hope to receive.
